Our Why
Where Hope Finds A Home!
Nickie's House was founded by I'Tatyiana Danner in honor of her mother. A woman who believed everyone deserves to be seen, fed, and treated like family.
The gap we saw
In North Omaha, the people who need help the most are often the hardest to reach. Transportation is a barrier. So is paperwork, shame, and a lifelong distrust of systems that have failed them before. Most programs ask people in crisis to come to a building, fill out a form, and prove they qualify. For a parent without a car, an elder without a phone plan, or a neighbor without a permanent address, that's a door already closed.
The model we built
We don't ask people to come to us. We go to them — with groceries, a hot meal, hygiene supplies, and care that doesn't come with conditions. Our model is simple: meet people in a way that protects dignity, builds strength, and encourage change.

"My mother believed the smallest gesture could be the moment someone feels human again. Nickie's House is how I keep that belief alive."
